Review:
The Alien Compendium is a very good book. It should have been very useful in any Star*Drive campaign if it were not for the fact that I played several gaming sessions without it and could have continued playing without it. In fact, my pc's fight mostly Klicks and Voidcorps agents. The layout is creative and practical. Several planets are given an entry with their stats and a short description, followed by the aliens who live there. Planets in the same systems are also grouped together under a system heading. This makes it easy to use in play as you can know which interesting aliens live in the systems without searching all through the book or in an index. The other side of the medal is that this accessory is tailored for the Star*Drive setting, while someone could use a Forgotten Realms monster compendium in generic AD&D this books details aliens of Star*Drive planets and often refers to nations of Star*Drive in which the planet is located or with which nation the alien has contact. 128 soft cover.
